Video Analytics
Video Analytics (or Intelligent Video) systems process live video in real time and send alerts when they recognise predefined events or behaviour. In this way it automates surveillance and so helps to eliminate the human error typically associated with CCTV monitoring. Video analytics also dramatically improves the effectiveness of CCTV as a computer processor can monitor many video channels simultaneously and continually without being prone to errors through fatigue.
The scene analysis techniques have a wide range of applications in both the commercial and public sectors; deployments range from congestion detection, intrusion detection and loitering through to people counting and gaming analysis in casinos.
What we do
Ipsotek manufactures video analytics devices that can be added to existing CCTV systems or designed into new projects. The devices can be installed in the form of a rugged outdoor unit physically located next to a CCTV camera (VIS1000 “edge device”) or as a rack-mounted server located in the control room or anywhere else in the camera network. Servers are manufactured in standard chassis sizes and are expandable to analyse any number of video channels simultaneously.
Ipsotek will work with Analogue or IP camera networks and can provide web-based access (VIMwe) to the system for analysis of video at any location.
Ipsotek systems are deployed at iconic locations in the UK such as the London Eye and The O2 Arena.
Ipsotek Pedigree
Ipsotek has over 10 years experience in developing Video Analytics solutions with its foundations in leading image processing research during the 1990s at top UK universities. Those original researchers now form the core of the company’s Research and Development team. The original research was based on understanding complex, crowded pedestrian scenes. That basis gives Ipsotek’s systems a strong advantage over other analytics solutions which have a high failure rate when confronted with complex scenes. By contrast, Ipsotek’s people counting system deployed at the 02 Arena is able to count over 40,000 visitors a day with around 99% accuracy.
Ipsotek has achieved several firsts including scenario-based detection, virtual perspective and the integration of combined sound and video analytics.
